- Flat part of the stems 15-35 cm long, 2-4(-6) cm broad, thin. Flower 1.5 cm long, 2.5 cm diameter, whitish. Ovary brown-red. Receptacle very short. Anthers white, pollen yellowish. Stamens white. Fruit round, 8 mm diameter, pink or magenta. Seed 1.8-2mm long, 1 mm broad.

- Costa Rica: Alajuela, Heredia, Limón, 30-1100 m, in tropical rainforest.
