- Stems pendant or erect, green. Ribs 8, low, obtuse. Areoles 1 cm apart. Periferal spines ±8, 5 mm long, brownish yellow, base darker. Central spines 3-4, thicker and darker. Flower 80-10 cm long, 6 cm diameter. Receptacle almost straight. Tepals smal lanceolate, pointed, pinkish red. Filaments whitish. Aporocactus martianus Style and stamens much longer than tepals. Fruit globose, 2 cm diameter, greenish, spined.

- Mexico: Oaxaca, 1500-2200 m, in cloud forests and oak forests.
