- Stems four-angled with areoles with spines, or flat with few spines and 2-3 crenations on each edge. Branching and flowering from apical areoles. Segments up to 3.5 cm long, 1 cm br and 3 mm diameter, dull dark green. Flower actinomorphic, with short receptacle, pink. Filaments half as long as flower. Pistil rose-red. Ovary four-angled. Fruit four-angled, yellow.

- Brazil: Paraná (T: Caiguava), Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul. Especially on araucarias in cloud-forests, 0-2000 m.
