- Terrestric, 6-8 cm high en broad. Stems two-, three- or four-angled, dull dark green, with violet edges. Stems in culture 2-2,5 cm long, 0,8-1 cm broad, initially with small white spines, later naked. Branching terminal or pseudoterminal. Areoles solitary on the edge of the joints, 0.5 cm apart, or several together in the growing point, 1 mm diameter, brown, with brown bristly hairs. Flowers short funnel-formed, 3 cm diameter, 1,5 cm high, pale lmagenta-white. Receptacle 5 mm long. Filaments magenta, 3-5 mm long, separate. Anthers yellow. Style thin, white, 7 mm long, with 5 outward rolled lobes. Petals narrow, lanceolate, whitish lilac, with intense lilac coloured midvein, 1.5-1.7 cm long and 0.3 cm broad, more winged than in the type, fertile. Seeds smooth, reddish brown.
