- Stems 1-2 m long, 20-25 mm wide, upright, later more pendant. Ribs 4, crenate. Spines 10-12, 1-1.5 cm long, straight, brown. Flowers 1.5 cm long, 0.5 cm wide. Petals dark pink, tips obtuse. Pericarpel 3 mm long, pink-yellow, with green podaria. Style pale pink, stigma white. Anthers white. Fruit globose, without hairs, pale pink, 4 mm diameter. Seeds black, up to 12 in each berry.
