- Strongly branching, hanging, up to 1,5 m long. Stems 20.30 cm long, 4.6
cm broad, flat, sometimes somewhat distorted or wavy, green. Areoles
±2 cm apart, ±5 mm diameter, with light brown felt. Spines
10.80, in a tuft, 2.18 mm long, stiff to hairy, light brown to whitish.
Older stems without spines. Buds red, later yellow. Flower 1 cm long,
outside red, inside purple, 1.5 per areole. Ovarium 2 mm long, greenish,
with hairs and purple scales, base with white hairs. Outer petals 2.6 mm
long, inner petals 5 mm long. Stamens white, anthers light yellow. Style
7 mm long, upper part dark purple, base lighter, stigma white. Fruit
five-angled, reddish, later green, 8 mm diameter. Seed 2 mm long, shiny
black.
