- Laterally branching, stems narrow, elongate, very flat, rounded, 20-30 cm long, 3-6 cm broad, strongly crenated, with thick midrib. Areoles rather large, with felt. Spines 3-8, 2-4 mm long. Flower lateral, pinkish or red. Receptacle up to ±3 mm long, naked. Fruit 7 mm diameter.
- Bolivië: Yungas (T), 1800 m. Mountanous rain forest of the Yungas in La Paz and Cochabamba, 900-2300 m. Flowering in the southern winter.
