- Pendant. Basal stems more or less cilindric, the flat part up to 90 cm long, 4-8 cm broad, with a thick midrib. Areoles with white felt and 1-4 small spines. Flower up to 7 cm long, funnelform. Ovary and receptacle withe fine spines, these up to 1 cm long. Outer petals red yellow to light purple. Inner petals greenish cream. Fruit 4.5 cm long, red, with numerous spines of 1 cm long. Pulpa white.
