- Lower 1-2 cm of stems round, 6-9 mm diameter, remaining part flat, 5-7 cm broad, slightly crenated, shiny green, with hyalinated edge. Areoles with few felt. Spines 1-3(-5), 3-5 mm long, hairy, brown-yellow. Flower remains open for two days, 15-16 cm long, 14-16 cm broad. Ovary olive-green with pink hue, lower part with a little wool and 1-3 spines. Receptacle 9 cm long, 0,9-1 cm diameter, yellow-olive, changing to pink- or orange-yellow. Outer petals red-orange to reddish yellow, towards the centre yellow. Inner petals white. Filaments cream, anthers light yellow. Style cream. Fruit 6 8 cm long, 2 3 cm diameter, carmine, pulpa white, later pinkish. Seed 2x1 mm, black.
