- to 5 m long, main stem round. Stems 10-60 cm long, 8,5 cm broad, crenate. Flower 10-15 cm long, 4 cm diameter. Receptacle 6 cm long, green-white to reddish. Outer petals linear, green-white to reddish. Inner petals lanceolate, to 4 cm long, white. Style thin, white. Fruit shiny cherry-red, five to seven angled, with some very small scales. Pulpa white. Seed small, black.

- Mexico: Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tobasco, Veracruz; Guatemala: Izabal, Alta Verapaz; Belize. Flowering time: June.
