- Stems to 1 m long, 4-8 cm broad, primary stems cylindric. Secundary stems deeply crenated, sometimes almost to the midvein. Areoles 2-3 mm diameter, with small scales, a few felt and sometimes 1-2 white hairs. Flower 15-18 cm long, scented. Ovary with scales of 3 mm long. Receptacle 8-12 cm long, with few, linear scales, widely apart. Outer petals 5 cm long, lemon to dark yellow. Inner petals lanceolate, 5 cm long, white, sometimes with yellow tip. Stamens and stamper white. Fruit 3-4 cm diameter, greenish, scented.
