- Segments to 50 cm long, 3-5 cm broad. Areoles 2-5 cm apart, with wool and 3 mm long spines. Flower 22-29 cm long. Ovary scales 6-12 mm long. Receptacle 9-18 cm long. Outer tepals green-yellow. Inner tepals cream. Anthers yellow. Style cream, stigmas yellowish. Fruit 5-7 cm long, reddish yellow or reddish green. Pulpa white, scented. Seed 1.8x2 mm.
- Mexico: Oaxaca, Chiapas (T: near San Cristobal de las Casas), 1600-2400 m.
