- Hanging, stems leaf-like, base round. Stems to 90 cm long, 4.5 cm broad. Areoles 4-5 mm apart, small, with grey felt. Flower 5-6 cm long, 3 cm diameter. Ovary 4-5 mm diameter, green, with scales, 1-1.5 mm long, purple. Receptacle 2.5 cm long, greenish orange with purple haze. Petals light yellow. Outer petals light brown-orange. Filaments white, anthers cream. Stigmas cream. Fruit round, 7-8 mm diameter, red or purplish.

- Mexico: Oaxaca (T: north of Niltepec), Veracruz, Chiapas (800-1900 m), montane forests and oak forests.
