- Lower part of old stems cylindric, lignified. Stems partly with triangled base, ±3 cm broad, thick. Areoles with short felt en some bristles. Flower 20 cm long, white. Ovary with many scales, spined. Style white. Fruit 9 cm long, 4 cm diameter, violet-red, with long, bended scales. Pulpa white or red.
