- Main stem 15-40 cm long. Stems lanceolate, 5-8 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, only weakly crenate. Flower 5-6 cm, not widely opening, red. Receptacle 1 cm long. Petals linear. Stamens somewhat protruding, red. Stigmas white. Fruit pear-shaped, 1.5 cm long, wine red, naked.

- Guatamala: Quezaltenango, Sacatepéquez, Solalá, Chinaltenango; El Salvador: Santa Ana, 1000-1900 m; Honduras.
