- Plant 4-5 m long, stems to 2 m long, 3-6 cm diameter. Ribs 3(4), acute, 2-3 cm high. Spines 8-13, acicular, 1-1.5 cm long. Flowers 14-15.5 cm long. Fruits green tot greenish-yellow, with a strong onion-like smell.
