- Plant 3-5 m long. Basal stems often narrow and round, other stems mostly three-angled, 2-7 cm diameter, glaucous, later green, edges hornlike. Areoles up to 2 cm apart. Spines 2-4, conical, dark, 2-3 mm long. Flower 30 cm long, white. Outer petals acute, pink. Inner petals lanceolate, white. Style yellow. Fruit up to 7 cm diameter, with large scales. Seed black.
