- Creeping or climbing, up to 3 m, profusely branching. Stems 1.5-2 cm thick. Ribs (3-)4(-6), 4-7 mm high. Areoles 3-6 cm apart. Spines 2-6, 1-6 mm long, dirty white to reddish or almost black. Flower 12 cm long, 9-11 cm broad. Areoles with brown or brown black hairs. Outer petals yellow-green, with red hue. Inner petals light yellow or tinted greenish. Fruit 5-6 cm long, 4 cm diameter, purple. Pulpa white.
