- Stems stout, deep green, three-angled, 2.5
cm diameter. Areoles small, on shallow podaria, somewhat felted, with soft
bristly spines. Flower 6-8 cm long. Ovary and receptacle with black felt and
dark spines. Outer petals brownish, up to 2 cm long. Inner petals cream
white, oblong, 2.5 cm long. Fruit globose, with many areoles and thin spines,
lemon yellow, pulpa white.
