- Spreading or pendant, up to 5 m and longer, profusely branching. Stems up to 4 cm diameter, three-angled, ribs up to 2 cm hoog, light green, not glaucous. Areoles 2 4,5 cm apart. Spines 0 3, 1 4 mm long, with a thickened base, yellow-brown. Flower 24 27 cm long, opening 22 25 cm wide. Ovary with brown felt and some bristly spines. Receptacle apple-green. Outer petals light green or light green with brown tinge, middle petals purple-red with green edges, upper part of inner white, lower part pink-purple. Filaments whitish. Style very thick, 5 6 mm, stigmas light green-cream. Fruit unknown.
