- Stems up to 5 cm thick, blue green. Ribs 4-6, stout. Spines 1-4, 1-3 mm long, conical. Flower 25-30 cm long, strongly scented. Ovary with long white hairs and spines. Outer petals linear. Inner petals white, yellow beneath, linear-spatulate. Filaments greenish to cream. Style green yellow. Fruit globose, red, 6-7 cm diameter.
