- Climbing, green or bluegreen. Stems up to 2.5 cm thick. Ribs 7-8 or less,
low. Areoles not on podaria, 1-1.5 cm apart, at first with hairs. Spines
needle like, 7-11, 0.4-1 cm long, at first yellowish. Flower 18-30 cm long,
scented. Ovary and receptacle with few hairs. Outer petals long and narrow,
salmon. Inner petals white. Fruit 8 cm long, ovoid,
red with yellow, with brownish wool and yellowish spines.

Dominican Republic, Haïti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, USA:
