- Plant 0.5-1 m long. Stems three to four-angled, rarely five-angled, 1-3(-4) cm diamter. Primary stems ±11.5 cm long, ±3 cm broad. Upper stems 8-9 cm long, 5 cm broad, deeply crenated. Epidermis light green, with reddish edges. Areoles on primary stems 3 cm apart, on secundary stems 1.5-2 cm apart and with 3-4 white, small spines. Flower light green, 1.2 cm long. Anthers white. Fruit ±0.7 mm diameter, white, initially pinkish.

- Brazil: Rio de Janeiro (T:Parque Natural Municipal Ecologica da Prainha). Flowering period April to June, sometimes October.
