- Pendulous, 1-4 m long, new segments in groups of up to six near the distal end of the previous segment, turning upward at first, later pendulous , with aerial roots. Segments sometimes to 2 m long, 8-10 mm diameter, ribbed. Ribs 5-7, continuous, acute, to 4 mm high near the apex. Areoles not sunken, 6-8(-10) mm apart, with scant wool, later naked, and with ±10-15 fine, bristle-like witish spines 3-6 mm long. Flower buds not erumpent. Flowers numerous, but only one per areole, 7 mm diameter, dirty whitish. Pericarpel deep pinkish red. Stamens white, minute. Style slightly shorter than stamens, stigma lobes white. Fruit slightly depressed to globose, 5 mm diameter, pink at first, white at maturity. Seeds black-brown, to 1x0.5 mm.
