- Pendant, up to ±1 m long, strongly branching. Stems up to 5 cm long, 2 mm diameter, at the tip 3 mm, equally long, yellowish green. Areoles at the end of the stems. Flower terminal, bell-shaped, white, 1.5 cm long, 1 cm diameter. Bud yellow. Ovary round, yellow, 4 mm diameter. Fruit greenish to pinkish white, 6 mm diameter, with broad umbilicum on which the dried flower is attached. Seed 1 mm long, beaked, dark brown.
- Brazil: Rio de Janeiro (T: Teresópolis), São Paulo, ?Ibitipoca (Minas Gerais), Espírito Santo. In mata Atlântica, up to 1600 m. Flowering period August to October.
