Rhipsalis macahensis Glaziou - Mém. Soc. Bot. France 1(3):326 nom. nud. (1909)

- Up to 6 m long or longer. Stem cylindric, often ribbed, sparsely branching, stems with 3-4 in whorls. Stems up to 20 cm or longer, 3-4 mm diameter, dull grey-green. Areoles more or less sunken, more than 1 cm apart. Flower white to purple-white, lateral to terminal, 1.2-1.4 cm long. Stigmas white. Fruit purple-red or white. Seed small, black.

- Brazil: lower parts of Itatiaia-mountains (T: Serra da Mantiqueira), Serra da Cantareira, Serra dos Orgãos (Rio de Janeiro), São Paulo, Minas Gerais. Also epilithic, in cloud forests, 1000-2400 m. Flowering time August to November.
