- First upright, later hanging, 0.7-1.5 m long. Stems apically branching, primary stems 8-40 cm long, secundary stems 11-25 cm long, triangular, green. Areoles 1-5 cm apart, with little felt, no spines or bristles. Flowers 1-2 per areole, 1 cm long, 1-2.5 cm diameter, white or yellowish. Style white. Anthers whitish. Fruit 4.5-5x5-5.5 mm, at first pale to magenta-pink, white when ripe. Seed black.

- Brazil: Rio de Janeiro (Itatiaia, Serra da Mantiqueira), São Paulo, 40-800m. Flowering period March.
