- Pendant, up to 2 m long. Stems round, in whorls of three to four, light green. Main stems up to 60 cm long, 5 mm diameter, terminal stems 4.5 cm long, 2 mm diameter. Areoles small, wide apart, naked, with triangled scales. Flower bell-shaped, white, not opening widely. Stamens with red base. Fruit orange, 5 mm diameter.
- Brazil: Rio de Janeiro (T: Serra do Itatiaia); São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Rio Grande do Sul. In coastal and cloud forest, 200-2300 m.
