- Pendant, profusely branching, up to 2 m and longer. Stems dichotomously branching or with 2-3 in whorls, three-angled, 3-10 cm long, up to 1.5 cm diameter, green, more or less twisted, edges weakly crenated. Areoles more or less sunken, small, with little felt, when flowering with more felt and a small, curved spine. Scales small. Flower white to pink. Stamens white, anthers yellow. Fruit red, round, 0.8-1 cm diameter.

- Brazil: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Mata Atlântica, up to 800 m.
